<br /> Audrey Geisel, widow of beloved children’s book author Dr. Seuss and avid promoter of his legacy, recently passed away at her California home.<br /><br />According to Reuters Geisel was 97 years old at the time of her passing.<br /><br />Geisel married the writer, whose real name was Theodor Geisel, in 1968. <br /><br />After his death in 1991, she founded Dr. Seuss Enterprises to license the characters he created and protect their use outside of his books. <br />
