The South Korean government is holding a Cabinet meeting to discuss changes to the Minimum Wage Act.
They are discussing whether or not to include weekend work in the calculation of the minimum wage.
This comes despite opposition from the private sector who claim the move would make labor costs even more of a burden.
The government hiked the minimum wage by 16-point-four percent this year, and another eleven percent hike is slated for 2019.
If the Cabinet approves the changes, the new ordinance will take effect from January 1st.
