More than 1,200 people in China's "coldest town" threw hot water into the air to create spectacular giant clouds of ice at a festival on Saturday (December 22).<br /><br />The video, captured in Daxing’anling Prefecture in northern Heilongjiang Province, shows firefighters lying on the snow-covered ground to form a shape representing -53.2, which represents the lowest recorded temperature in the town's history. <br /><br />Hundreds of other people also took part, throwing the hot water into the air.<br /><br />The hot water can be seen freezing immediately and condensing into clouds before blown away.
