One of Italy's most active volcanoes, Mount Etna, spewed massive columns of ash on Christmas Eve.<br /><br />In the video repeated loud rumblings can be heard coming from the volcano.<br /><br />"During the morning of December 24, a violent eruption occurred on Etna volcano, in Sicily, with huge ash plume and fractures all over the east flank," wrote filmer Giuseppe Distefano.<br /><br />"Several earthquakes (shook) the villages around the volcano," he added.<br /><br />Distefano and Marco Restivo captured the footage.
