In recent decades, most cruise lines have begun adding gratuity charges to passengers' bills.<br />But according to Business Insider, the shift away from cash has hurt some workers.<br />Room stewards, for example, have seen their overall pay decrease since they now earn less in tips than they used to.<br />And some workers have seen no change in their overall pay at all.<br />But that's only because their base salaries have decreased by the amount they now receive in gratuity. <br />
