'아듀 2018'...부산서 타종식 등 새해맞이행사 열려<br /><br />Now we go onto the southeasternmost part of Korea.<br />Choi Si-young is standing at Yongdusan Park in Busan, the country's second-most populous city.<br />Siyoung I do explain what the oversized piggy bank is supposed to represent.<br />Well Daniel,<br />I'm here in front of this gigantic piggy bank... because the year 2019 is the year of the pig, the twelfth animal of the 12 zodiac signs.<br />This is an annual festival celebrating the new year's with the bell ringing... very similar to the one we see in Seoul at Bosingak Pavilion.<br />At 11 p.m., the festival kicks off with a concert including traditional Korean percussion music followed by an orchestra.<br />The countdown starts at 5 minutes 'til midnight, and at the zero hour, they're going to strike the bell 33 times.<br />The bell-ringers will be Busan residents from all walks of life -- students, workers, you name it-- and the mayor too. <br />The Busan skyline will also be lit up by fireworks for about a minute or so.<br /><br />And one thing special about this festival is that at the end, the people here will sing the "song of Busan," the city's anthem.<br />I will keep you updated with the latest.
