Welcoming the New Year,... President Moon Jae-in promised "irreversible" peace on the Korean Peninsula. <br /> Through Twitter and Facebook the South Korean leader wrote he had "walked on the path of peace,... which the people helped open in the past year."<br />Moon added he will make sure there's irreversible peace that can improve everyone's lives.<br /> Earlier on the first day of the year,... the president also went hiking with six civilians who made headlines in 2018 with their efforts to help out those in need. <br />Included in the group are those who helped save a driver stuck in a burning car and students who helped out a patient on the street. <br />
