Following an opening ceremony for the new year, South Korea's stock markets opened their first trading session of 2019 this Wednesday at 10 a.m....one hour later than usual.<br />Their last trading session was on December 28th last year.<br />The benchmark KOSPI opened today four tenths of a percent higher in the first 15 minutes of trading on gains from market heavy weights.<br />The secondary KOSDAQ also opened about one percent higher.<br />Markets will close at the same time as usual, at 3:30 PM. <br />
