Firing up the economy and overhauling the election system in South Korea were identified on Wednesday as the key tasks for South Korea's National Assembly in 2019.<br />The ruling party said the economy clearly took a step forward last year, adding they will work to make a difference that could be felt by the public. <br />The main opposition Liberty Korea Party and centrist Bareunmirae Party said the current situation needs to be improved to create more good jobs for young people.<br />On reforming the way elections are run, the two largest parties did not mention the issue, but the three minor opposition parties stressed it is one of the most important tasks of 2019.<br />They adding they will push hard for a mixed-member proportional representation system to improve the economy and people's livelihoods. <br />
