Tens of thousands of people have fled islands off Thailand's south-east coast to escape what could be the most devastating storm to hit in decades.<br />Tropical Storm Pabuk is expected to make landfall on Friday evening, local time, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and seven-meter waves.<br />However it's unlikely to become a typhoon.<br />A weather warning has been issued but no evacuation order is in place.<br />Officials have set up shelters for those who wish to stay put. <br />
