South Korea's media giants are joining forces to launch an online video streaming service that they hope could rival Netflix.<br />Earlier this week, broadcasters SBS, MBC and KBC signed an agreement with SK Telecom to merge their "POOQ" streaming service with SK's Oksusu ,... to form a brand new platform.<br />This comes amid concerns local content providers are seeing their share of the platform market dwindle due to the increased popularity of YouTube and Netflix in Korea.<br />The service will create and provide original video content, which will be customized to each subscriber's preferences.<br />It also aims to promote Korean pop culture overseas,... once the service expands to Southeast Asia later this year. <br />
