Temperatures in central and northern Greece have been below freezing for almost a week, during which time heavy snow has fallen, disrupting transport services and forcing flights to be diverted.<br /><br />This clip shows the Greek city of Thessaloniki blanketed white on Saturday.<br /><br />According to the filmer, the city has been completely paralysed by the blizzard with no public transport running, few cars on the roads and most shops closed. <br /><br />According to the filmer, people were emerging from their homes with the "sole purpose of enjoying the rare scenery by throwing snowballs or building snowmen."
