Bluefin tunas are known to be expensive, but a New Year's auction in Tokyo over the weekend saw numbers reach new highs. <br />Sushi chain owner and self-proclaimed Japanese "Tuna King", Kiyoshi Kimura, paid a record three million U.S. dollars for a Bluefin weighing 278 kilograms. <br />The purchase is nearly double the previous record set six years ago.<br />Kimura said he was surprised by the price this year, but didn't regret opening his wallet. <br />
