The world’s tallest power-transmission towers were getting their final check in China’s eastern Zhejiang province on January 6, 2019.<br />The towers are 380 metres (1,247 feet) tall and used to suspend power cables across a 1.7km (1 mile) wide channel between coastal islands.<br />Built at a cost of 462 million yuan (US$67 million), the pylons are designed to boost the power supply and improve the reliability of electricity service to nearby Zhoushan city.<br />
