A leopard was cornered by villagers in central India and injured three people while trying to escape yesterday (January 7). <br /><br />The incident took place in a village near the Banderi forest in Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh state, after the leopard was seen crossing the village boundary and became tangled in some ropes. <br /><br />The villagers went to see the trapped predator but it suddenly charged out of the the bush and injured three villagers. The injured were sent for medical aid to a nearby government hospital.<br /><br />Forest officials were informed and DFO Prashant Kumar and SDO Sudhir Singh arrived on the scene to catch the dangerous animal on the loose.
