2018 US Carbon Emissions <br />Saw Biggest Rise in 8 Years A preliminary estimate published <br />by the Rhodium Group on Tuesday <br />reports a 2018 rise of 3.4%. Emissions declined <br />in each of the <br />previous three years. The report ties <br />U.S. carbon emissions <br />to strong economic growth. Industrial emissions <br />were up by 5.7% in 2018. Even though one sixth <br />of U.S. emissions are <br />due to the industrial sector, The report highlights difficulties <br />the U.S. faces curbing its carbon <br />emissions in the wake of <br />a strengthening economy. Carbon emissions <br />remain down by 11% <br />compared to 2005 levels.
