Subscribe so you don ´t miss any of my recipes <br /><br />Please share this recipe if you like it!<br /><br />Today I will teach you how to prepare a Piquillo peppers cake, I discovered this curious recipe in a cooking magazine, although I changed the filling for another one I liked more, the truth is that I do not remember the filling of that recipe, but I wasn´t very convinced of it.<br /><br />At first glance it may seem very complicated, but I assure you it is not, so if you are looking for something to surprise your guests, dare with this salty cake, you will leave them astonished.<br /><br />You can make a cake for four people with the quantities I give you, although you can also cut it into thinner slices and serve it as a starter for six people.<br /><br />And if you have already tried this type of cakes, did you like them? (5,29 oz.) of Piquillo peppers<br /><br />- 2 large eggs<br /><br />- 100 gr. (3,52 oz.) of flour<br /><br />- 8 gr. (0,28 oz.) of baking powder<br /><br />For the filling:<br /><br />- 200 gr. (7 oz.) of cream cheese<br /><br />- 20 large peeled prawns<br /><br />- Chopped parsley<br /><br />To prepare this Piquillo peppers cake you must follow the following steps:<br /><br />-Separate the egg whites from the yolks.<br /><br />-Crush the Piquillo peppers with the yolks.<br /><br />-Mix the flour and baking powder separately.<br /><br />-Add the flour and baking powder mixture to the crushed peppers.<br /><br />-Beat the egg whites until they are firm.<br /><br />-Add the whites to the mixture carefully and making enveloping movements so they do not lose volume.<br /><br />-Pour the mixture on a tray with baking paper and spread it with a spatula.<br /><br />-Bake 10 minutes at 160 ºC (320 ºF).<br /><br />-Take it out from the oven, roll the dough on itself with the help of the baking paper and allow to cool.<br /><br />-Cook the prawns for a couple of minutes in boiling water.<br /><br />-Leave the prawns in a bowl of cold water to cut the cooking.<br /><br />-Mix the cream cheese with the chopped parsley.<br /><br />-Unroll the cake and fill it with cream cheese and prawns.<br /><br />-Serve sliced.
