'Choose Your Own Adventure' <br />Sues Netflix Over 'Bandersnatch' Chooseco LLC owns the rights <br />to the popular Choose Your <br />Own Adventure book series. It claims that the <br />recent Black Mirror: Bandersnatch <br />“infringes on its trademarks." The publisher is seeking at <br />least $25 million in damages <br />from the streaming giant. Bandersnatch is an interactive <br />show in which viewers <br />decide what happens <br />to the characters. It's an idea made popular by the <br />Choose Your Own Adventure <br />book series in the 1980s. Netflix had been in <br />negotiations with the <br />publishers for years <br />to get the rights to <br />the book series. 20th Century Fox — <br />soon to be owned by Disney — <br />owns the movie rights to the series. Disney will debut <br />its own streaming service, <br />Disney+, sometime this year.
