On Monday over 30,000 Los Angeles teachers hit the picket lines, in the first city strike in 30 thirty years. <br />Reuters reports that the teachers in the second largest school system in the U.S. are asking for a 6.5 percent pay raise, more school librarians, counselors, and nurses on campuses. They also want smaller class sizes, less testing, and a moratorium on new charter schools. <br />
