Low temperatures caused power lines to spark, and subsequently more than 300 households to lose power, Monday in the southwestern province of Sichuan, China.<br /><br />In the videos filmed by residents, the cables can be heard sizzling, the sound similar to the crackling of fireworks.<br /><br />On-site traffic police rushed to the scene to evacuate pedestrians and vehicles.<br /><br />Local media reported that the sparking was a result of the lines having to take on an increased power load due to the drop in temperature. The lines are currently being repaired.
