NAIROBI, KENYA — At least six people were killed on Tuesday when suspected militants attacked a luxury hotel complex in Nairobi, according to France 24. <br />According to Kenyan Police Chief Joseph Boinnet, the attack began around 3 p.m. local time when gunmen threw bombs destroying three vehicles in the I&M Bank parking lot.<br />The gunmen then entered the lobby of the DusitD2 hotel, where one blew himself up. <br />Gunfire and explosions could be heard throughout the compound, reported BBC. <br /><br />The government said all buildings had been secured by late Tuesday. <br /><br />According to the BBC, local media report that around 30 people are being treated at Nairobi hospitals. <br />According to the BBC, the Somali-based militant group al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the attack.
