Gov't to temporarily close old coal-fired power plants to improve air quality

The South Korean government this year will be temporarily shutting down some old coal-fired power plants to help clean up the country's air, which has been clogged lately with fine dust pollution.<br /> President Moon's chief of policy, Kim Soo-hyun, said Sunday that the plants will be shut down between March and June,... one of several measures being considered to deal with the fine dust.<br />The policy chief also addressed the issue of soaring home prices.<br /> He said the government will take yet more steps, without delay, to stabilize them if need be.<br />It will also expand welfare support linked to housing.<br />Home prices, he said, are not yet as stable as the administration would like.<br /> <br />
