Gov't unveils measures to boost people's livelihoods over Lunar New Year holiday

기재부 설 민생안정대책 발표<br /><br />At Tuesday's Cabinet meeting, South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance laid out plans to boost people's livelihoods... some of them related to the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.<br />The ministry says it will spend almost 130 million U.S. dollars to increase the number of jobs for the elderly.<br />It'll set aside around 80 million dollars to support regions that have experienced employment shocks because of weak growth among local firms.<br />Also, it'll sharply increase the amount of new year's gift certificates that can be used in traditional local markets.<br />And during the holiday period, when millions plan to travel, it'll set up an emergency headquarters to minimize traffic congestion. <br />
