Residents of Bolivian town of La Asunta have imposed a month long ban on consumption of alcohol in a bid to stop the rape of their children.<br /><br />The residents say they refuse to stand by and do nothing as their children are assaulted.<br /><br />The father of an 11 year old girl who was raped claims the police are corrupt and demand bribes to take action.<br /><br />One mother said that if her child is raped, "I would buy 20 litres of alcohol and set the offender on fire because there is no justice."<br /><br />The residents have therefore taken to riding in the back of police vehicles and ensuring for themselves that there is no alcohol being sold in the Bolivian town.<br /><br />They have also set a 10pm curfew for minors and are considering extending the 'dry month.'
