U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has downplayed expectations that the U.S. and China would reach a deal to end their trade war anytime soon.<br />In an interview on CNBC on Thursday, he said both sides were "miles and miles from getting a resolution", adding there were still many complex issues to be ironed out.<br />Chinese Vice Premier Liu He is scheduled to visit Washington at the end of this month to meet U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.<br />White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said next week's talks will be a crucial test of whether the two sides can come to a trade agreement. <br />
