Ongoing flooding in the Indonesian province of South Sulawesi has left over 30 dead and thousands displaced, according to reports on January 24.<br /><br />Parts of Makassar City have been flooded following incessant heavy rain that fell from Monday evening until Tuesday noon. Floodwaters reached a height of up to 2.5 meters in several districts.<br /><br />This video shows the rescue efforts carried out by operations teams.<br /><br />Currently, Indonesia is experiencing the peak of the rainy season. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned of possible hydrometeorological disasters to come.
