Venezuela's political showdown on Saturday moved to the United Nations where US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo expressed his administration's support of the country's self-declared interim leader Juan Guaido. <br /> <br />Pompeo also said the regime of President Nicolas Maduro "has oppressed its people for years". <br /> <br />Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza and other council members, which include supporters of both duelling presidents, are also expected to address the meeting in New York.
