A two-year-old boy was rescued on Sunday after falling into a 70-foot-deep borehole in northern India.<br /><br />According to officials, the boy, Tej Pratap Singh, was playing near the hole in Kerhar village in Madhya Pradesh at about 8 am local time when he fell in. <br /><br />According to officials, a rescue team reached the spot in 45 minutes, dug a parallel hole and were able to reach the boy and get him out safely.<br /><br />He was said to have emerged without "a scratch on his body" but was being kept under medical observation for a few hours as a precaution before being returned to his family.<br /><br />Officials said the borehole was dug without proper permissions and the case was being investigated.
