Amazing footage from Guatemala yesterday (January 27) shows numerous baby turtles climbing out from under a sandy beach after hatching.<br /><br />Footage taken by ecologists from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala show the infant turtles appearing from the dark sand into the care and protection of the conservationists.<br /><br />The filmer commented: "Each year hundreds of turtles arrive at the Pacific coast of Guatemala to lay their eggs,<br /><br />"They are collected by ecologists and are covered in small turtle hatcheries,<br /><br />"Weeks after the small turtles are born that are released into the sea in order to preserve the species."
