South Korea's trade ministry has vowed to provide more incentives this year for overseas firms operating in the country to encourage greater foreign direct investment.<br />Ministry officials and organizations related to FDI met on Tuesday with representatives from Korea-based foreign companies to discuss possible policy directions for 2019. <br />Specific support measures include providing more financial incentives to foreign firms and stripping away red tape.<br />The ministry also plans to raise more foreign investment for South Korea's manufacturing sector to vitalize regional economies. <br />The meeting comes after FDI pledged to South Korea reached an all-time high in 2018. <br />
