11월 출생 혼인 역대 최저치 기록...연간 출생아 33만명 미만 기록할듯<br /><br />South Korea has been suffering from chronically low birth rate for a long time. <br />The latest figures show: last year's numbers will be the lowest ever...<br />if the trend continued through December.<br />Seo Eun-kyung breaks down the digits for us. <br /> The number of newborns last November was the lowest... since monthly figures were first compiled in 1981.<br /> According to Statistics Korea, the total number of babies born in November was 25-thousand-300... down by more than 8-thousand from the same month in 2015.<br />The November figure has fallen for four years in a row. <br />As for the total for 2018, from January to November the number of births was 303-thousand-900.<br />Statistics Korea says if that trend holds for December, then the yearly total will be less than 330-thousand,... a new record low.<br />The current low was just the year before, in 2017.<br />One reason for the decline in births is a low number of new marriages.<br /> In fact, the number of marriages dropped in November by 7 point 3 percent from a year earlier.<br />That figure was also the lowest on record.<br />Seo Eun-kyung, Arirang News. <br />
