CHICAGO — A brutal deep freeze is wreaking havoc in the U.S. midwest this week thanks to Winter Storm Jaden, and it's so bad even the mailmen are staying home.<br /><br />According to the U.S. Postal Service, delivery services are temporarily being suspended to certain states on Wednesday due to the extreme weather.<br /><br />CNN reports that Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and parts of Kansas, Missouri, Montana, and Nebraska will all be no-mail zones.<br /><br />Temperatures this week are reaching all-time lows. Chicago might reach 27 below zero on Thursday morning, and the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes Area could plunge to -20 to -40.<br /><br />The wind chill is even worse, plummeting 30 to 70 below zero in the northern Plains and Great Lakes region. In Minnesota, it's forecast to be -70.<br /><br />Under those conditions, exposed skin can get frostbite in as little as five minutes, prompting advice from the National Weather Service to limit time outdoors.<br /><br />Three deaths have already been attributed to the crazy weather, one in Wisconsin, a second in Minnesota, and a third in Illinois.<br /><br />So unless you're Elsa, bundle up and stay in, because trust us, this cold is gonna do more than bother you.
