UNICEF says US$ 19.5 mil. needed to help 2.59 mil. N. Korean children

UNICEF says more than 19-million U.S. dollars is needed to help North Korean children this year.<br />In a report titled Humanitarian Action for Children, the UN children's agency said that of 2-point-59-million children in North Korea, 70-thousand of them need treatment for malnutrition and 240-thousand need vaccinations.<br />Statistics show that one out of five children under 5 years old have developmental disabilities due to malnutrition.<br />UNICEF has spent 30 million dollars annually for the past 10 years to help North Korean children recover from malnutrition, and get clean water and basic medical care. <br />
