S. Korea declares 'disinfection day' to stop foot-and-mouth disease

Since last week, South Korea has confirmed three cases of foot-and-mouth disease at cow farms.<br />Now, as part of efforts to stop it from spreading, the government's named this Monday "National Disinfection Day" and is sending resources to disinfect farms and other facilities across the country.<br />The agriculture ministry says it plans to use around 13-hundred pieces of equipment, including long-range fan sprayers and drones.<br />Though the ministry has vaccinated some 13-million cows and pigs since last week , the government is still advising people to avoid animal farms while traveling over the holiday.<br />The infected animals were in Anseong, Gyeonggi-do Province and Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do Province. <br />
