MLB Hall of Famer <br />Frank Robinson Dead at 83 According to 'USA Today,' he had recently been in hospice care near his home in Bel Air, California. Robinson, who retired in 1976, played in <br />21 seasons for five different teams. The 14-time All-Star won two World Series Championships with the Baltimore Orioles. Over his illustrious career, Robinson slugged <br />586 career home runs and recorded <br />nearly 3,000 hits. He then made more MLB history as the league's first African-American manager. In 2005, for his contributions to civil rights, Robinson was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom. His uniform number has even been <br />retired by three different teams: <br />The Orioles, Reds and Indians.
