A sinkhole appeared on a busy London road during rush hour yesterday (February 7).<br /><br />The gaping crevice on Church Street caused severe disruption around West London.<br /><br />Local resident and mum Rachel Palazzolo, whose house is situated next to the sinkhole, described how the previous night her whole house was shaking and her son heard repeated bangs. <br /><br />She explained buses travelling too fast down the road often shake their windows, but not to the extent that happened that night.<br />Other residents also complained of a lot of heavy traffic using the road.<br /><br />Thames Water staff were seen attending the scene at lunchtime, their press office said they were working closely with Kensington and Chelsea council to investigate the cause of the incident.
