Now, today marks the 1 year anniversary of the start of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, which became a turning point for the peacebuilding process between the two Koreas.<br />And to extend PyeongChang 2018's legacy of peace and reconciliation,... the host province of Gangwon-do is holding an international forum to discuss peace and human rights.<br />Our Won Jung-hwan is out at the forum right now to tell us what to expect over the coming days. <br /><br />Hi Ji-won, if there is Davos forum, why not have a Pyeongchang forum. Those were the words of the governor of Gangwon-do province when he laid out plans to use the opportunity created by the Winter Olympics to discuss global issues.<br />The PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics played a pivotal role in opening the door for eventual peace talks on all levels with North Korea. <br />And that is why this forum is taking place here in Pyeongchang,... the birthplace of the current historic peace process on the Korean Peninsula. <br />The Pyeongchang Global Peace Forum will be held from Saturday to Monday, and will be attended by many peace activists, including Nobel Peace Prize winner ( ) Lech Walesa, as well as representatives from groups dedicated to activities towards peace all over the world.<br />The peace advocates will also discuss how they can work together to maintain and expand this historic peacebuilding beyond the Korean peninsula by developing a comprehensive common action agenda for the whole globe,... touching on matters including gender, human rights and religion. <br /><br />By the end of the three days, the forum aims to come up with a draft framework that will eventually be adopted as the official Pyeongchang agenda for peace 20-30.<br />That is all from me today but I will be back tomorrow with more details about the peace forum. <br />
