South Korea's Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation held an event with the Russian government in Seoul on Tuesday... to shore up economic ties between the two sides.<br />The event is part of efforts to realize the Moon administration's New Northern Policy.<br />Participants included representatives from South Korea's trade-related organizations and local companies... and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev.<br />The Russian government encouraged South Korean companies to invest in Russia's far east region... and promised to provide tax benefits and improved infrastructure. <br />By continuing to hold similar events in the future, the two sides are aiming to achieve 30-billion U.S. dollars in trade volume by 2020. <br />
