Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the setting up of the Economic Action Council (EAC) is to allow the Government to listen to different views on the economy.<br /><br />Dr Mahathir explained that the council was not set up earlier as there were other priorities that need to be looked into.<br /><br />He said this on Tuesday when asked to comment on media and communications adviser in the Prime Minister's Office Datuk A Kadir Jasin’s claim that the council was formed because the existing machinery, especially the Cabinet ministers, cannot adequately handle issues affecting the economy, finance and people's well-being.<br /><br />Read more at https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2019/02/12/dr-m-neac-for-govt-to-listen-to-different-views-on-economy/
