Chinese hotpot chain Haidilao recently opened China’s first AI hotpot restaurant in Beijing.<br /><br />The cool clip, shot on December 7, 2018, shows robotic arms picking up dishes in a storage room for customers and robot waiters delivering them to the tables, though there are still some human staff seen attending to customers.<br /><br />Customers waiting for tables can be seen sitting in front of a screen which can allow them to scan the QR codes on it, to download the Haidilao App to play mobile games.<br /><br />There are 93 tables and two rooms in the over 1600-square-metre restaurant, reports said. <br /> <br />Haidilao says the AI-operated system will save labour costs and improve food safety.
