The main opposition Liberty Korea Party has expelled one of the three party members who made highly disparaging comments about the country's 1980 Gwangju pro-democracy uprising. <br />After two-day ethics committee meetings, the party on Thursday dismissed Lee Jong-myeong . <br />It decided to put off disciplinary action on the two other representatives,... two-term lawmaker Kim Jin-tae and Kim Soon-rye . <br />That means the two will still be eligible to join the upcoming party convention on February 27th.<br />Both already announced their intention to run for the supreme party leadership. <br />Last week the trio sparked a firestorm when they referred to the family members of those who died during the uprising as a "monstrous group" formed by (quote-unquote) "pro-North Korea leftists" who were 'siphoning off taxpayers' money." <br />
