Snapchat Celebrates Black History Month With Virtual Museum A new immersive lens on Snapchat allows
users to explore a virtual art gallery dedicated
to black millennial artists. The project was orchestrated by SnapNoir,
an all black employee group within Snapchat, and is available until February 28. The exhibit, titled “For Us, By Us: Art Through
the Eyes of Black Millennials,” features work
from five different artists. The gallery can be accessed from anywhere, transporting viewers into a crisp, minimalistic space. Moving around in real life reveals an entire
room with various paintings hung on every wall. Users are able to walk up to each painting to view it more closely and read the description underneath. To access the gallery, open your camera up in Snapchat and focus on the provided Snapcode, which will then unlock the lens.
