U.S. Senator Cory Gardner has expressed hope the United States will maintain its armed forces in South Korea,... even if Pyeongyang and Washington agree on an "impeccable denuclearization deal."<br />Gardner, who also serves as Chair of the Senate's Subcommittee on East Asia, The Pacific and International Cybersecurity Policy,... said a continued U.S. engagement and presence on the Korean peninsula is significant for the security of South Korea as well as other partner countries.<br />He added that it would be a grave mistake for American troops to leave the peninsula as Washington's Indo-Pacific strategy is dependent on its sustainable security capability on the Korean Peninsula. <br />
