North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's close aide checked out few spots around Vietnam on Sunday.... including a local Samsung factory and a famous tourist spot.<br />Oh Jung-hee has more. <br />Will the North Korean leader visit a Samsung Electronics factory during his state visit to Vietnam?<br />According to Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency, Kim Jong-un's close aide and the director of North Korea's State Affairs Commission, Kim Chang-son, visited Samsung's smartphone factory in Vietnam's Bac Ninh province on Sunday.<br />Bac Ninh, located northeast of Hanoi, is the country's manufacturing base.<br />South Korea's Samsung Electronics built factories in this province and in the city of Thai Nguyen... to produce half of its smartphones in Vietnam.<br />If Kim Jong-un does take a look around the Samsung factory, the move would be seen as a message of his strong will towards economic development.<br /><br />As Kim Chang-son is Pyeongyang's key official in charge of protocol, wherever he visits gets lots of attention as those places could end up being visited by the North's leader Kim Jong-un. <br />In addition to the Samsung factory, Kim Chang-son reportedly visited Vietnam's popular travel destination, Ha Long Bay,... and stopped by at the Hanoi Opera House.<br />The late former North Korean leader and Kim Jong-un's grandfather, Kim Il-sung, visited Ha Long Bay on his trip to Vietnam in 1964.<br /><br />The North's protocol chief is also known to have visited Lang Son -- a Vietnamese city on the border with China, which has led to speculation that Kim Jong-un may travel to Vietnam by special train.<br />If he does, then he might come to Lang Son by train, and then travel to Hanoi by road.<br /><br />Meanwhile, the logistics teams of Pyeongyang and Washington could have met each other for the first time on Sunday.<br />That... as Kim Chang-son stayed at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi for about an hour.<br />His U.S. counterpart, Daniel Walsh, who's the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations... arrived in Hanoi on Saturday.<br />Reuters reports Kim Jong-un will arrive in Hanoi on February 25th, a couple of days early, ahead of the summit with President Trump.<br />Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News. <br />
