This was the patriotic moment two bald eagles came to blows on a US highway yesterday (February 17).<br /><br />Both birds of prey were locked in aerial combat when one descended to the asphalt, forcing oncoming motorists to swerve out of the way.<br /><br />The alpha eagle swoops down to finish the other bird off but is deterred by the approaching vehicles.<br /><br />The filmer said: "I was driving on the New Jersey Turnpike when two bald eagles started fighting, then landed right in front of my car and quickly took off again. <br /><br />"I did not hear or see them get hit so I think they both got off safely. Everyone ahead of me swerved out of the way and no one crashed."
