Iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has died at the age of 85 in Paris following a short illness.<br />The German designer is best known for his work as the creative director of Chanel and Fendi. <br />His signature dark suits, ponytail and dark glasses made him an instantly recognizable figure around the world.<br />Heartfelt tributes have been pouring in from industry heavyweights, including Donatella Versace and Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, as well as several models and celebrities. <br />Rumors of Lagerfeld's ill-health had swirled after he failed to show up at Chanel's spring/summer show last month in Paris. <br />
