A furious monocled cobra was rescued after getting its head trapped in a beer can in eastern India yesterday (19 February).<br /><br />The incident happened in Bhadrak district, Odisha state, when professional snake rescuer Mirza Mohd Arif was called in to save the trapped reptile, cutting open the can with a knife while the snake writhed and tossed angrily. <br /><br />The cobra emerged quickly and bit a glove which was placed on the ground to distract it, allow Arif to seize it and place it in a plastic container. Later it was released into the forest.
