Honduras has become the first Latin American country to add taekwondo to its public elementary school curriculum.<br />According to the South Korean embassy there,… the martial art form has been adopted as a mandatory subject for students of that level.<br />The classes, taught by local masters rather than Koreans, will be held once or twice a week... for about 1-thousand-8-hundred students at 15 elementary schools. <br />Taekwondo has become an immensely popular sport in Honduras, second only to soccer. <br />
