This is the dramatic moment huge slabs of ice were suddenly forced onto the shore of Lake Erie, missing onlookers by just a few feet. <br /><br />George Kourounis, who filmed the entire incident on Sunday near Fort Erie in Canada, said:<br /><br />"We got out of the way just in the nick of time as some of the ice crashed ashore right beside us."<br /><br />The phenomenon Kourounis captured is known as an "ice shove" and occurs when strong winds force the frozen surface of a lake onto the land.
