U.S. President Donald Trump left Hanoi almost immediately after the summit schedule was cut short,.. wasting little time to get back to Washington. <br />But North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is still in town for his official Vietnam visit. <br />We have our Kan Hyeong-woo standing by in front of the Melia Hotel where Kim has been staying since Tuesday. <br />Hyeong-woo, what's the latest?<br /><br />Ji-yoon, As you mentioned,... President Trump left Hanoi on Thursday after the second North Korea-U.S. summit abruptly ended as the two sides failed to reach an agreement. But Chairman Kim will begin his official friendship visit to Vietnam today as planned.<br />According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs,... after a welcoming ceremony by the Vietnamese government at the Presidential Palace of Vietnam, Kim will meet President ( ) Nguyen Phu Trong and hold bilateral talks there later this afternoon. <br /><br />Chairman Kim will also meet with the Prime Minister and the Chairwoman of the National Assembly,... followed by a state banquet at Hanoi's International Convention Center. <br /><br />As for Saturday's schedule,... in the morning Kim will visit the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum where the founding president of Vietnam is buried... and lay a wreath there and that will wrap up his official friendship visit to the Southeast Asian country. <br /><br />It's reported Kim will take his armored train from the same Dong Dang railway station where he arrived on Tuesday after a roughly 60-hour train ride across China. <br /><br />But the released schedule leaves some spare time for Kim to make a surprise visit to other places. For instance,... he could make a quick stop at the Vietnam-North Korea Friendship Kindergarten in Hanoi. Or after the state banquet tonight, Kim could take a stroll along the famous ( )Hoan Kiem lake like he did back in Singapore. <br /><br />We are going to have to see what he chooses to do,... so I will keep you updated throughout the day.
